he loves to nap like this. I might be able to get some work done soon... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ thanks @sollybaby!! 😊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #blaisearden #onemonthold #babykiwi #babywearing
I was going to comment how I’ve been MIA lately, but well, this whole pregnancy has had me MIA a lot.. it was so rough! like, I could have easily been admitted to a hospital if I weren’t fighting so hard rough. and if I didn’t have sooo many things to help (epsom salt baths, essential oils, supplements, chiropractic, all-the-things). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ but here’s the payoff. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ blaise arden💙 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (pronounced like “blaze” - it’s french and he’s named after blaise pascal) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ short version of the story: we had a planned home birth, but it turned out he’d flipped breech at the last second and was born via c-section. (my water had already broken and he wasn’t able to be flipped again.) which ought to have been uneventful, but he wasn’t breathing and the cord was wrapped twice around his neck.. he spent his first handful of days in shock. he ended up being transferred to a different hospital to be admitted to the NICU because they were concerned about what looked like potential infection and he had to be given IV antibiotics. all his labs came back clear. then he had a feeding tube... we spent 10 incredibly exhausting days in the NICU, working to bring him home. (really it felt like weeks - I didn’t actually sleep at all) and we’ve been trying to catch up ever since. traumatic experience and total exhaustion on top of typical newborn exhaustion. things are starting to go a little more smoothly now, thankfully. and he is the most amazing boy, I love that I know him so well already💙💙💙 #babykiwi #blaisearden #homebirth #csection #nicu
this smoothie tastes like jolly ranchers and summer. ☀️☀️☀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ and it’s healthy. and it’s easy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ thanks for the rec @rosaliemarvin!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ fresh watermelon + frozen strawberries. 🍉🍓🍉🍓 (the watermelon is all the water you need.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ also great to freeze up as fruit popsicles! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #healthyisdelicious
a to Z protocol... in pregnancy. 🤰🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ so it’s june, and I thought I somehow made it all the way through spring with no sinus infection. usually the weather change does it, and not having allergies anymore has meant even fewer sinus issues for me. I was going to be especially impressed though, because tummy troubles have meant not taking supplements as consistently.. so not keeping my immune system as “charged up” as usual. ⚡️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ well, here we are, on the edge of this congestion and crud becoming a full-blown sinus infection. and said tummy troubles also mean taking all these oils in a capsule is not gonna happen. so I used the same oils and mixed them in rollers instead! my aim is to just use them as often as possible on the bottoms of my feet on each of their days. (swipe for the original protocol) I also added FCO to dilute the rollers to about 50:50 to improve absorption. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ this is also a GREAT way to use this protocol with kiddos! 👧🏽👦🏼 just dilute according to their age and apply as often as possible. every 2-4 hours is ideal🙂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ there are so many things you want to be cautious about in pregnancy... I’m so thankful for safe, natural options that make it so easy to take care of myself and my babe! I am feeling really thankful that I don’t have to weigh the pros and cons of taking conventional antibiotics while growing a tiny human. I don’t have to suffer the symptoms either😅 probably the best thing about that is the sleep aspect.. 🛌💤 (yes, I slept a full 8 hours last night🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ p.s. I absolutely adore these cap stickers and, let’s be real, ALL the labels from @shareoils - be sure to check out their shop! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #naturalpregnancy #pregnancysinusrelief #doterrapregnancy #sinusinfection #naturaloptions #32weeks #babykiwi
this roller... 110% lives up to its name in pregnancy!! I’ve been dealing with so much reflux lately, and rolling it along my esophagus & stomach (like, the actual location of my stomach currently😂) tones it down like crazy. it’s such a relief! this roller hasn’t failed me yet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ all the things I have been loving it for: ✨aches & pains ✨muscle cramps ✨muscle tension ✨nausea ✨stomach upset ✨acid reflux/heartburn ✨stress ✨focus it’s so versatile because this blend includes copaiba, lavender, spearmint, and zanthoxylum. the aroma is mild because these oils are milder (spearmint in place of peppermint, for example), and it’s more highly diluted for children - but no less effective!! so it’s never overpowering, and since it doesn’t include peppermint, it’s not cold or tingly on your skin either. usually that is such a soothing feeling, but most of the time being pregnant, I’d just rather not. 🤷🏻‍♀️ plus, you can continue using it through the end of pregnancy and after birth, without worrying about peppermint & milk supply for breastfeeding. such a win! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ could a more perfect blend exist? I really don’t think so!! 😍😍😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ who needs this roller?? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #pregnancy #naturalpregnancy #doterrapregnancy #pregnancysymptoms #morningsickness #babybump #31weeks #babykiwi
learned this trick from a friend - a trip away from home can either be a time to throw good habits out the window, or a welcome change of routine to jump into better ones! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ we had a full kitchen at the place we stayed in florida, and we went on one very intentional grocery run where we loaded up on fresh produce and healthy meal options for the week. I always say this—but it is so true!!—eating good tastes good and feels good. I haven’t been feeling as great pregnancy-wise since coming back home, so I’m sad to say I haven’t kept on with making the same good meals. working on that! but snacking - I’ve got myself in the groove of reaching for fresh fruits and veg, and hummus, trail mix, or cottage cheese for protein. yummm😋 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #healthyhabits #wellnesslifestyle #wholefoods #startsmall
